International Institutions and Projects

ICNIRP
International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection
Launched in 1992 as an independent commission of the International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA), ICNIRP continues the activities as previously performed by the International Non-Ionizing Radiation Committee (INIRC). ICNIRP is responsible for coordinating knowledge of protection against the various non-ionizing radiations as this becomes available, and for collaboration with WHO and other bodies in this endeavour with the object of developing background documents and internationally accepted recommendations.
EMF Measurements Database
A project sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy through the EMF Research And Public Information Dissemination (EMFRAPID) program with the purpose to make measurements of electric and magnetic fields publicly available.
FCC Radiofrequency Safety Program
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission is required by the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 to evaluate the effect of emissions from FCC-regulated transmitters on the quality of the human environment.
National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP)
The National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements seeks to formulate and widely disseminate information, guidance and recommendations on radiation protection and measurements which represent the consensus of leading scientific thinking.
BEMS - Bioelectromagnetics Society
The Bioelectromagnetics Society was established in 1978 as an independent organization of biological and physical scientists, physicians and engineers interested in the interactions of non- ionizing radiation with biological systems.
Microwave News
An U.S. newsletter covering the health and safety issues related to exposure to electromagnetic radiation. Includes electromagnetic fields (EMFs), power lines, cellular phones and radar.

Compilation of the Dielectric Properties of Body Tissues at RF and Microwave Frequencies
Local copy of the document.
Recent developments in the field of electromagnetic dosimetry have produced high resolution anatomically correct man and animal models. The application of such models require that dielectric properties be allocated to the various tissues at the frequencies of interest The project backing this publication is geared towards this objective.
